There are 3 million nurses in America. Good luck with cutting the income of the 2nd most respected profession out there.

Use tool at bottom of this page

Not only would single payer lower nurse salaries, it would raise their taxes at the same time.

Would be political nightmare

I work at a hospital, and I have yet to find a single co-worker who likes Obamacare. Something had to change...the health system in the US is messed up and has been for a long time.

That's surprising because the staunchest defender of the ACA on here is disease specialist in the ID department at Emory university hospital

Was talking to a small business owner who dropped her group policy as a result of Obamacare and let employees go to get under 50 employees.

She now pays over $1400/mo for her own insurance and has a $6000 deductible.

I think we can all agree that Obamacare is a success.

pretty much all the healthcare fields would be impacted by a loss of income by single payer...

including me as a pharmacist... and know what? i'm totally OK with that... i'd gladly take a pay cut if that means that more people have access to healthcare and facilities and they can take better care of themselves and their kids... see, i actually care about people other than myself... IRL, i do try to treat everyone the way i'd like to be treated and live by the golden rule...

1-How big of a pay cut would you take?
2-Is it OK if your Health premium goes to $2500/mo with a $8-10K deductible?
3-Is it OK if illegal aliens get coverage on your nickel?
4-Is it OK if the people you relish helping don't work, drop out of school, have 10 kids out of wedlock and get free health care?
5-How many of #4 before you might reconsider?
6-Do you believe people have a personal responsibility for themselves, including their health?
7-Do you believe you and they should live forever free from health problems?
8-Do you also support cradle to grave support by the government?
9-Did you vote for Obarry?

It's a start. Why would anyone think salaries in the medical field in general are where they should be, considering they developed under our dysfunctional "insurance" system.

Dude, you were the one arguing Trump would push single payer.

She is either an academic that can't see the real world effects because of her cloud of smugness or she is a troll. I would believe either.

or we would raise salaries for nurses.

make up something more realistic.

if we save billions on Blue Cross overhead, we can pay nurses more.
