The formula that counted people no longer "looking" for jobs? its time to be completely honest with the American people. He ran the majority of his campaign on a better economy so wouldn't it be beneficial for him to go back to the original formula used to calculate unemployment so that if/when he succeedes at growing the economy he can point out where we truly came from?

You didn't get the memo?

When a republican is in office that is how it is counted. When a democrat is in office only people on unemployment are counted.

So get ready within 3 months the leftist news media will be pushing a 13 percent unemployment rate.

I heard yesterday he plans to use U6 instead of U3. Currently U6 is around to me 9.6%.

He ran as a different breed of politician.
He should run a country that does it's best not to deceive the citizenry.
This is a great step forward, and if the talking heads begin focusing on it, maybe Joe America will ask, "well, that makes sense to use the new number. Why were we using that other number that didn't account for people?". Then, they might just follow the rabbit hole and wake up to the fact that our gov't lies constantly, and then they may work to drain the swamp.

You really think the unemployment metric has changed between r and d administrations? It's been essentially the same since the 40s

Also: it's a metric. Metrics cannot tell the whole story ..... that's the very essence of a metric. It is an abstraction.

The unemployment rate is around 5% which is damn near optimal ( if it goes too low you have inflation issues)

The right has howled about "participation rate" over the last 8 years. And there is definitely merit to it....but again. It's just a metric. It includes retired people, full time students, the disabled, in addition to the people who have given up looking for work (who are excluded from the unemployment rate metric).

The problem is: the quality of jobs, not the quantity. And innovation is the primary driver of that. Trump could prop up policies to mitigate it, but the underlying reality remains (whether it is technology or overseas manufacturing)...Someone or some thing can do it cheaper. It is doomed to fail eventually. This is the Achilles heel of protectionism.

Your latter point is received by me loud and clear. I do not believe however that we as a country are running at 5 % unemployment. Not when damn near half our country gets financial aid (food stamps, housing etc etc). Financial aid that can only be granted with proof of next to minimal taxable income

He should make good on his false claim that rwo million illegals voted and find and deport them. Deport ten million more illegals.

The unemployment numbers then will be moot.

I think he should, but as soon as he does and the number skyrockets, the ill informed boot lickers from the far left will claim "See, he has ruined this country, unemployment doubled within his first few months"

Great idea.

He should start in Wayne County Michigan.

You remember Wayne County don't you?

You guys had that big recount going with your money grubbing stooge Jill Stein and that shite had to be stopped by a liberal judge when they stumbled upon all those precincts in Hillary island where many more than 100% of the residents voted.

Why did the msm stop reporting that? Why did the left wing crusaders for truth regarding election "fairness" not pounce on it?

That was just another fricking cover up and anybody who thinks that was the only place the dems were doing it is an imbecile.

You sons of bitches post your snarky horse shite and think we don't remember from one month to the next. It is insulting and why you are despised and not respected.
