Why not make it as easy as possible for working people to vote?

Yeah, I guess the South would be heavily impacted.

If not Saturday, how about a national holiday on Tuesday?

Sabbath for Jews trumps College Football Saturday.

I support this, along with no forecasting until polls are closed. Scotland has some really great laws on this.

Cause working people are less likely to vote for the handout party.

I don't see a problem. With early voting, why not? However, the voting numbers could actually be lower. People can't use voting for a reason to miss work thus they just stay home.

My only beef with Elections Days are the special elections held on days they know no one will show up. Elections should be held once or twice a year on the same one or two days.

Why would working people be less likely to vote? Does anyone here have a hard time leaving work to vote?

How about if you can't make time to vote you shouldn't be voting at all.

i have had htis problem in the past. I was just too damn busy to take the 2 hours off to vote. And yes, it took two hours to vote in 2004. The line was ridiculous and my polling station was across town.

but yes, it should either be a national holiday or on a saturday, or over multiple days.

So let me get this straight. Want to make something of yourself, avoid welfare, be a success? Work hard.

But sir, I'm working hard. How do I find time to vote?

Just get rid of Columbus Day and make it a National Voting Day or something.

This, and primary elections should be held on the same day across the country.

Agreed, with all polls opening and closing at the same damn time. Reports from polls in the east that close early affect turnout at polls out west.

And no exit polling bullshite either. I'm sick of the 4th Estate trying to skew elections.
