She didn't say anything in this Emmy's speech but she obviously knew the script and was complicit in it.

Dolly Parton front and center for most anti-Trump moment at Emmys

You can do whatever you want. I didn't watch the Emmys.

She looked a bit uncomfortable with what was going on.

She just decided to keep he trap shut. Good for her.

If they want to, but Dolly seems like such a good person who has done many great things for children (her book club) that this would be an absurd thing to hold against all of the good she has done.

I think she's a Democrat and has been for a while, but I was surprised that she'd go on stage for that rant and risk alienating her overwhelmingly conservative base.

I think she handled it the best she could. She obviously didn't want to be involved in the political statements, so she just kinda moved it along and joked about her tits- always a good move

Yeah, her eyes getting big as the words came out of Lily Tomlin's mouth is a dead giveaway.

Excuse me while I finish listening to the remainder of Hard Candy Christmas.

YEah. I don't think Dolly was really down for what they had to say?

uhh, no.

quote:

Dolly Parton, one of country music’s most enduring entertainers, said she will donate $1,000 a month to each family that has been left homeless by the wildfires that destroyed much of a town and left at least seven people dead in her home state, Tennessee, this week.

The notion that Trump is a conservative is probably just as wrong as Dolly Parton being a progressive totalitarian.

Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton.

And they are relevant in 2017, why?

I thought she looked completely uncomfortable up there and seemed to be in a daze. I don't believe in boycotts , but for sure I feel she should have said no thanks to being up there.

She's an icon that deserves a free pass on this one.

I don't care if Dolly hates or loves Donald Trump. All of those celebrities have a right to their opinions. I, personally, do not care what any celebrities opinions are on any subject. Boycotting them just looks silly. Wait until they go Kathy Griffin or do something equally disgusting.

The Target boycott is a classic example. Target made a decision that a large portion of their customers did not like. Target doubled down. Sales SD stock took a beating. Then they decided to build single stall restrooms and avoid the Transgender bathrooms to save face. I believe they are still struggling more than other large retailers.

I'm boycotting the Emmys, Grammys, Tonys, Oscars, CMAs, and Golden Globes in perpetuity.

Toys R Us just files for bankruptcy. Sears, JC Penny, Macy's, etc. are closing stores left and right. Target is struggling, but many are doing even worse.

I've boycotted almost everything but the woods and the water and unfortunately college football.
