Costs will skyrocket...I like a cheap service economy...secondly, most employers employ illegals because they show up and work...not like most of our unskilled native pop.
Finally, I don't think "nothing should be done"...guest worker program with a legit path to citizenship (under the current system virtually unskilled labor basically has no path). The fact is the country benefits too much from the unskilled labor force and you are not going to stop people from coming for a better opportunity...frick they're already willing to rick murderous "coyotes", drowning or dying in the desert. It's time to face reality and provide a system that tracks and legitimizes these people.
