So, they're obviously not interested in reducing spending.
Rescinding Obama's order is a mistake in this instance.
This is part of the swamp IMO

They've already made Trump back down with his trillion dollar infrastructure plan and pushed it off for years.
Back down?
We gonna hammer the Democrats in 2018 with this issue. Imagine these big city projects and Democrats needing to bring money back to their states. The Trump infrastructure project is going to help offset the Democrats energy in midterms.
ETA: Obama killed Romney using immigration. The democrats had a Super Majority and still used immigration as a campaign issue

The for-profit outrage is comical. How many people here have been inside a GEO prison?
The uninformed act like they are going around rounding up people to fill their beds.
The potential for conflict of interest is too high to let this happen. Thats not even mentioning how care and supplies will become worse to save money. Stop being a fricking dumbass and jump on the right side of this argument.

Serious Q, is soda a bigger long term health risk than MJ?
Because I'll take a 30c soda tax per gallon and school lunch regulations in exchange for a private prisons and MJ enforcement ending. If for nothing else than to make medicinal use easier for the people who can't find anything, including a bunch of vets.

I'm addicted to Soda, but I'm luckily a healthy, slim guy. I'm 5'9 and weigh 127 pounds.

You should look into ALEC and who the members are and what corporations they represent. They get plenty of laws passed.
Alec is shadow Congress. They do a lot of the actual work of focus groups, campaigns, writing laws, so that congress can spend 30-50 hours a week begging donors for money.

I read an article recently about the private prisons in Louisiana which named several sheriffs who were made part owners of some of the private prisons without much investment.
So, to answer your question, YES they are going around rounding up people to fill their beds.
ETA: The main topic of the article I read was that the sheriffs were lobbying their representatives to vote against a bill that would reduce the length of mandatory prisons sentences in Louisiana.
Now why would those sheriffs do that?

Probably because they're the type of people who think abstinence only sex education reduces teen pregnancies. Just a bunch of ignorant fools.

I'm 6'0 and 152 pounds.
That's still lean but really an optimal weight to me and what I want to be for the rest of my life. Just spent the last month cutting after bulking.

Do not break the fricking law and you are not affected
It's really fricking simple.
The goal of a CORRECTIONAL system should be to never have a repeat "customer", but that's bad for business. Thus corrections should not be a business, almost by definition.
