Exactly. I even posted them. Weird, huh?

GEO Group, one of the nation’s largest for-profit prison operators, donated $250,000 to support Trump’s inaugural festivities, Pablo Paez, the company’s vice president of corporate relations, told USA TODAY.
That’s on top of the $225,000 that a company subsidiary donated to a super PAC that spent some $22 million to help elect the real-estate magnate. Another prison operator, CoreCivic, gave $250,000 to support Trump’s inauguration, recently filed congressional reports show.
Take it all in Trumpanzees, business as usual

Not a whole lot of Trump defenders in here. Odd.

Pay for play. Trump is no better than Hillary.

The for-profit outrage is comical. How many people here have been inside a GEO prison?
The uninformed act like they are going around rounding up people to fill their beds.

Not really. There's only so many subjects you can respond to with "cuck" or "melt".

Unlike the Obama administration, this one is going to enforce our laws. If you don't like a law, work to change it.

I really enjoy watching Trump do exactly what we told his supporters he would do. Savior of Western civilization is making some very un-savior-like moves.

Alright, now I'm confused. Are states rights a good thing or a bad thing this week?

It's almost like they think we lead the world in incarcerating people. What do they believe we have more people in prison than China or Russia?

You're drastically underestimating the amount of stupid laws that still exist. And the administration isn't going to enforce all of them, so this is a dumb argument. Marijuana laws are anti-civil liberty and if you don't agree, you should reconsider your positions.

I'm sure most of them think GEO cells are full of low level drug dealers.
Posted on 2/23/17 at 5:09 pm to NYNolaguy1
I'll step in to say
I support use of private prisons
I oppose Marijuana and other drug laws.
That said. I also oppose disregarding laws on the books. Presidents shouldn't be in that business.
Just because I want a thing to be legal doesn't mean that I want a president to simply make it legal by fiat in contravention of actual law.

You think a multi-billionaire who built his wealth through real estate and branding is overly concerned with his stock portfolio?

Hurray! More authoritarianism!
This is what you imbeciles voted for.

Why? They're proven to be even more expensive than federal prisons. You like incentivizing imprisoning people? Hurray for freedom, right?
Posted on 2/23/17 at 5:15 pm to ShortyRob
I live near a private prison. As bad as the government run prisons tend to be, and I'll stipulate that they tend to be pretty bad, it's hard to imagine they could be any worse than this place. The absolute dregs work there, and conditions alternate between brutal and letting the inmates run amok, depending on who's getting paid off.
Posted on 2/23/17 at 5:16 pm to Jim Rockford
Private prisons are way worse than federal prisons b cause there is minimal oversight. Trump will probably appoint the CEO of America's biggest private prison corp to oversee the whole thing.

Either way, don't blame the company for trying to make more money. I mean that's like blaming Trump for buying stocks then tweeting about it, and selling them at a profit. Or taking donations from private corporations and then giving them sweetheart deals once in office. It's the American Way.
If anyone thought that Geo would take a revenue haircut without fighting for their clients to stay in jail, they just don't know business or politics.
Besides, who here doesn't support the employees of the corporation, or the entire industry that keeps them afloat. What's better- letting a bunch of dopeheads toke up on Saturday night in their own home or having responsible hard-working LEO, Attorney's, Private Prison CEO's, and the like raise their families?
