Shouldn't this read: "violating civil rights" ?

We all have the same rights.

I'm not for going after police departments for nothing okay. But when police are holding people without phone calls, and holding them in jail without charges I got to say something. There are a bunch of dirty departments that need reform. I'm not talking about Eric Holder's BS either.

"Going after police departments" is a political move. It looks like Sessions is saying the goal is a better functioning police department and suing is overused as a tactic.

Keep melting.

Really, Trump reversed the Obama ban on the use of private prisons. Remember the Clinton's turning us into police/ prison state in 1990's this is the same blueprint. They want to go after drugs.

nope....if you put the criminals behind bars, and off of the streets, the police should be in a position to not have to take an average traffic stop as a life/death situation.....make people get a job, put criminals in jail and stop all of this homo/gender confusion, safe space shite, and things will moderate quickly....jeff sessions is not a racist, but he is a tough sonofabitch and means what he says

Yep.

Sessions is a one trick pony that's only good for enforcing illegal immigration laws. Sucks that getting him this job was to pay off a campaign debt.

He's a powder keg waiting to happen with the wrong local situation.

Hopefully his tenure as AG is very brief as possible.

What I'm saying is there are police departments that have systematically been in direct violation of citizens individual rights for decades. I hope the Justice Department follows through in these cases.

This. To a proggy, everything...and I mean EVERYTHING is about politics. It drive everything they do and how they view the world.

The politicization of executive agencies over the past eight years is the result.

As are the majority of Americans

Do people on the left not see how politically unwise it is to come out against officers?

So how does the "it's the law, not his job to decide when to enforce it" when it comes to Weed crowd feel about this one?

Do people on the right see videos of police murdering unarmed minorities and really think "yep, we need more of THAT to get our historically low crime rates even lower"?

None of the people on this board care about anything except illegals which I confess is high on my list. Mandatory minimums, war on drugs etc.. There are a lot of areas we can bring in new voters to our side but the old guard won't go away.

Blanket condemnations are not any more unwise than blanket support.

Agree as well.

These people are being very shortsighted and not seeing the forest for the trees.

The GOP is single handedly fricking up a golden opportunity to be the party that ended the failed war on drugs and brought legal weed to the United States of America after removing it from schedule one.

Democrats know a wedge issue when they see one and this is going to be one and it will bite the GOP in the arse when they're just leaving it open for them.
