Because they realize that Donald Trump actually only cares about himself. I wonder if Trump has ever had a true friend in life. All relationships are disposable to him. He expects absolute loyalty yet his loyalty is entirely self serving. He is actually not even a Republican or Democrat. He is a narcissistic master manipulator. Anyways ....lots of congress realizes this regardless of party.

Eta he is also woefully uninformed and uninterested in policy.

Do what the man promised voters and they'd ride a wave of momentum that would take the Dems 20 years to recover from. Who doesn't want lower taxes, secure borders, cheaper and better healthcare, more fair trade deals, higher wages, safer neighborhoods, less government interference in our lives, better jobs, a stronger economy, all of the things Trump promised.

Because he didn't convince the majority of people who took the time to vote to vote for him and apparently about 30% of those who did vote for him only did so because he was the GOP nominee....those who still approve of Trump, about 38% of Americans, are a HUGE minority in sane GOP districts....the majority of the country in other words...places where Roy Moore couldn't get elected but statesmen like John McCain can and do. Y'all are mistaken a math trick for a mandate.....Trump will never have a mandate as long as his approval ratings are around 37%......

I keep meaning to note all of the times you weirdos get off on this kind of imagery, but it’s frequent enough that some of you need to come out and relax.

So the fact that he doesn't take a salary and that since he took office he has lost 600 MILLION is proof of that right?

"Republicans" and "Democrats" are a farce in DC. There is only the establishment. They are unified in their front. The country club Republicans lie to get your vote. They only represent the people that give them money, the people who need political help to keep money flowing into their pockets.

because Trump fricked up their excuse that "we don't have the White House" so they cannot freely sit on their asses and do nothing while blustering about how much they would do if they could.

He exposed them for the do nothing deadweight they are, stripped them of their cover.

They are exposing themselves as Deep State Swamp people. They’ll pay for that, eventually.

It's my firmest belief that he sent Bannon out to get rid of these fricking leeches.

If they keep up with the hard Bannon on one side versus opponent with a soft endorsement by Trump on the other...it does look manufactured...

You might be right

It's only a handful, br. Collins and McCain have long been a problem. Latecomers like Flake and Barrasso won't last long. Bannon's got this.
