Big money is evidently behind this and given the climate it would probably work.

Bring in O'Reilly, Hannity, Tomi Lahren, Lauren Southern, maybe Martha MacCallum and some others. Who knows?

I'd do my best to support it - hell, I'd try to invest in it if possible.

https://www.mediaite.com/tv/exclusive-advanced-talks-underway-for-new-conservative-network-amid-fears-fox-news-moving-too-far-left/

Excerpted fair use:

quote:

On the heels of major shakeups at the Fox News Network, an alternative conservative network is being actively discussed amongst conservative fat cats.

A well-placed source close to the proposal tells Mediaite that serious discussions are underway to create an alternative conservative cable network on the belief that the Fox News Network is moving too far to the left. The source, who is engaged in the talks, says a meeting is planned for today with two prominent high-powered television executives, some underperforming conservative networks and people who have an interest and the ability to fund a new network.

The potential aim? Putting “the old band” back together. There are certainly plenty of (out-of-work?) conservative powerhouses to pick from that could star on a new network, and perhaps even some executives from within Fox News who might be lured by the new opportunity. Could the new channel include stars like the ousted Bill O’Reilly, who didn’t waste much time hitting the podcast waves after he was fired amid a sexual harassment scandal? Could Tomi Lahren, the conservative mega star, who was recently sidelined at The Blaze also take on a prominent role? The exact “who” won’t be clear until the deal is more defined but the source says the pitch is that the network could immediately reach at least 85 million homes.

quote:

This news comes on the heels of a long profile in last weekend’s New York Times which paints a picture of a changing Fox News Network with Murdoch’s sons, James and Lachlan, CEO and co-chairman of parent company 21st Century Fox, at the helm. The piece struck fear into the minds of some Fox News’ hardcore conservatives with talk of the sons wanting to rid the company “of the old-guard culture on which their father built his empire” and bringing “a warmer and fuzzier workplace” that would move away from an “anti-politically correct environment.”

I don't know if all those attractive young women would want to work with O'Reilly.

Why can't we just have responsible journalism? Instead of a conservative network with "journalists" like Hannity, let's start an ethical and responsible news network.

They would do better with a digital franchise, especially if the goal is to appeal to a sub-40 audience. It would also cut costs and initial capital requirement.

Because nobody wants that. There is responsible journalism out there, but it doesn't get any ratings. People on both sides just want to be spoon-fed BS from these talk show hosts like Hannity, O-Reily, Maddow, and Matthews.

Where? Name one major newspaper or TV network that isn't socialist propaganda.

Makes sense that they would go with a streaming model .... and Trump could offer them a legitimate stand by doing a couple of appearances upon launch.

OANN is trying it now but they have not had the talent firepower to really make it work.

I subscribe to OANN and they are actually very good.

It would be awesome to see the two Murdoch sons get completely cucked by Sean Hannity and William Michael Patrick O'Reilly III

It's a longshot, but if this worked, Fox would be left with virtually zero viewers.

They should get Lou Dobbs and Stuart Varney to join them. "Based America News"

That's not what draws eyeballs (and money) though.

CNN/MSNBC do their thing and Fox does theirs.

It's sad but true.

You have politicos and journalists that are substantive on each side. Pat Buchanan, Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich come to mind. Conor Friedorsdorf, Matt Welch, Glenn Greenwald and Laura Poitras are great investigative and print journalists.

I want news, not opinion and entertainment regurgitated from an RNC, DNC or Deep State talking point.

I would love that... but as long as there are networks like CNN and MSNBC out there, you need a counterbalance like FOX to even the playing field.

There is plenty of talent out there to be had .... I'd love to see a place for Gina Louden, Laura Ingram, Trish Regan, et al.

With a strong Conservative women's lineup it would bring-in the advertisers although they would have to overcome the Madison Ave boycotting of O'Reilly ... which may make him poison to some degree. He would have to get his name cleared first.

Wouldn't touch Roger Ailes with a ten foot pole.

I wish more journalist would do exactly what the AP did this week with their Trump interview. Do the interview, record it and post the exact word for word transcript with no "reporting" added.

I have a feeling that Trump is going to stop being as willing to do them over time but while he is they should keep it up.

I've always thought if you could find a FUNNY conservative, that they would clean up!

Good funny on camera talent. Imagine Jon Stewart but conservative. They just aren't out there? I don;t know why. It would take a MASTER to pull it off. Being funny without triggering too many people. And when they did it was so well written and sharp they could easily defend themselves.
