But with pay?!? Wtf is that?

quote:

Controversy erupted when Secret Service agent Kerry O’Grady’s social media posts were unearthed, showing support for Hillary Clinton, disgust for Donald Trump, and her feeling that she would rather go to jail than take a bullet for him. These posts were made prior to Election Day around October of 2016. O’Grady is the special agent in charge for the Secret Service’s Denver district. She has since deleted the posts following complaints from serving and former Secret Service agents. Yet, she went back at it again during the Women’s March over the inauguration weekend.

She has repeatedly said that her opinions and posts do not impact how she executes her duties. Yet, following the discovery of the posts, O’Grady, who was a member of The Association of Former Agents U.S. Secret Service, was expelled from the group on January 25. Now, O’Grady has been suspended (with pay) from her post in Denver. Her duties involved coordinating with the advance team for all presidential visits to the area (via CBS News):

The special agent in charge of the Secret Service’s Denver district who is under investigation for a social media post suggesting she wouldn’t take a bullet for President Trump has been suspended, CBS station KCNC-TV reports.
[…]
O’Grady is the head of the Denver office but may not be able to hold onto that position once the investigation into the post is completed.

Hmmm, not sure what she's thinking here since she already said she wouldn't take a bullet for him.

Should be terminated. No benefits. No retirement. Her comments are completely against her (sworn?) duties I would think.

I have a strong suspicion that she will never go near anything that involves a security detail.

Her best case scenario is getting quietly moved to a SS position that doesn't involve a security function.

Honestly, though, she should be absolutely fired for nothing more than her obvious lack of simple judgement. When she took to social media to say these things, how did she think this was gonna turn out for her?

She flat out said she wouldn't execute her duties, as much as she wants to invent grey area there is none.

This shite as everybody know needs fixed...zero tolerance. The stories I hear where I live make me sick. A NASA union employee...murdering his colleague might get him fired. Same on the Army side. Watch some of those house oversight committee hearings with Gowdy. DEA officials supposed to be investigating the cartels, instead they are caught having sex with under aged prostitutes...paid for by the cartels, and they received zero discipline...maybe the paid leave. This would be a perfect start for some cutbacks, but she's a hero in liberal land. The media would spin it back on evil Trump. When the frick are we going to get our AG?

Here's what I don't get about her... Or maybe it's something I don't understand. She wasn't even involved in his protection, so why say something so irrelevant. It's not like one of the people who are actually around him said this.

She obviously has problems keeping her mouth shut. Send her to Alaska to count seals or something.

As the District Agent in charge in Denver, were the POTUS ever go out there, she would be in charge of setting up all the security planning for a presidential visit. There are special agents who travel with him all the time, but each city he visits has its own District Agent in some level of authority or another.

I'm not sure what kind of investigation is needed here. She has said that she would refuse to do the penultimate, yet most basic, task of a USSS agent. Fire her. Period.

This story is suspicious. It is starting to seem that 18 U.S. Code § 912 is being violated by a third party impersonator. SS people would have top secret clearance; so, they would not have FB accounts to begin with, besides. Maybe, it's good damage control to have her on administrative pay, given the eventual exoneration.

She'll be fired. I know a couple of current and former Secret Service guys and, while they can and do party hard from time to time ... they are serious when it comes to this kind of stuff.

She'll be fired because 99% of her fellow agents and all of her superiors will demand it. They have no choice.

The Hillary private server nightmare should have taught us that the rules don't mean shite when it comes to govt employees.

Agree, you can't have the Secret Service having employees publicly say, "they won't take a bullet for the president". How is this even normal within the SS? This woman is a disgrace to this country. I have no idea what they are investigating? I'm trying to picture how big a story this would be if Obama were president.
