Sears sold all of their top line products in tools and designers. Their service dept is now done, finito, The K-Mart here, makes a white trash store look like Lord & Taylors.

Sears and Kmart are both near bankruptcy, and are so irrelevant in the retail industry that all I can say is 'meh.' The Trump brand wouldn't wants to be associated with such bottom feeders anyway.

Didn't know there were any Ks left.
Very rural La. has some Sears stores in little buildings that sell maybe a few lawnmowers and a refrigerator, but, mainly order for old folks online, I think. Lol

Way back when would you believe K-Mart pharmacy was the only place military families could get their Rx prescriptions, via Champus/Tricare?

Sears was only good when they had the best catalogue for Christmas. Good and holsom Sears, that serviced all appliances and had the best tools. They are no longer trustworthy, they are a big political statement dump, being run into the ground.

Sears had a decent tire department, I'll give them that.

Their Kenmore appliances USED to be very good and affordable. They are now a piece of junk! In the same vein, Craftsman was a valued brand. I don't know much about tools, but I don't see people clamoring for Craftsman tools anymore. Like Meryl Streep, these are obsolete brands who are whimpering to stay relevant.

Two dying businesses doing anything they can to become relevant again.

The Sears announcement is a little odd, though. Their only real claim to fame these days is Craftsman tools and I would think they would try to avoid pissing off the avg working people that use their only real, marketable product.

No, they're still in a coma and barely breathing! Shadows of their former selves. Sears and Kmart merged back in 2005.

According to the NYT Nordstrum's is having some issues. The left threatened them with a boycott so they removed Ivanka's line. Now the right wing is boycotting them till they bring it back.

It's the law of opening a can of worms. 20 years ago some Shreveport HS students got permission to pray around the flagpole once a week before 1st period. The Jews had a cow and met with the principal. She agreed to ban the prayer. The next day instead of 10 Jews she was confronted with 100 irate Christians. She really should have seen that coming.
