Screenwriter who worked with Harvey Weinstein says 'everybody fricking knew'

quote:
Scott Rosenberg, a screenwriter who worked with Harvey Weinstein during his late 90s heyday, has penned a searing ‘poem’, detailing his time working with the producer and how ‘everybody f***ing knew’ about his reputation.
“To me, if Harvey’s behavior is the most reprehensible thing one can imagine, a not-so-distant second is the current flood of sanctimonious denial and condemnation that now crashes upon these shores of rectitude in gloppy tides of bullsh*t righteousness,” he writes.
“We knew something was bubbling under. Something odious. Something rotten,” Rosenberg continues.
“But… And this is as pathetic as it is true: what would you have had us do? Who were we to tell? The authorities? What authorities? The press? Harvey owned the press. The Internet? There was no Internet or reasonable facsimile thereof. Should we have called the police? And said what? Should we have reached out to some fantasy Attorney General Of Movieland? That didn’t exist.”
He later apologises for sitting by and doing nothing.
“I am eternally sorry, I’ve worked with Mira (Sorvino) and Rosanna (Arquette) and Lysette (Anthony). I’ve known Rose (McGowan) and Ashley (Judd) and Claire (Forlani) for years… Their courage only hangs a lantern on my shame. And I am eternally sorry to all those who suffered in silence all this time. And have chosen to remain silent today.
“So, yeah, I am sorry. Sorry and ashamed. Because, in the end, I was complicit. I didn’t say s**t. I didn’t do s**t. Harvey was nothing but wonderful to me. So I reaped the rewards and I kept my mouth shut. And for that, once again, I am sorry.”

Weinstein and others like him are pieces of shite, but you know...this will make me unpopular with the feminists of this board.
But the actresses who didn't speak up when all this shite was happening to them and chose a career and fame over honor.
They are all just as complicit in this because every single time one of them choose the money and fame over speaking up...they just set up the next woman for Weinstein to victimize.

This is the problem with being a cuck.
Downvote me if you are a cuck.

Definitely written by a screen writer.
Shores of rectitude?

I understand the fear of reporting the behavior of someone that is extremely powerful....but in many of these cases, the victims themselves became rich, powerful, and famous themselves and still didn't say anything until someone else spoke up.

Yes. It's very disingenuous for actresses to now speak out when Harvey can no longer help their careers.

The internet has been around for 25 years. Weinstein didn't become a real powerhouse until the Disney buyout of Miramax in 1993.

There is an Attorney General of California.

As are we all, I saw every X-Men movie and had a strong suspicion that Bryan Singer was a child rapist...i don't know if it's confirmed, but I think he does
Every Miramax picture you saw since a decade ago...everyone knew about the casting couch...anout Travolta, about a bunch of this, itt was in the public, just not at the top of our conscience

If I’ve known the rumors about Weinstein for years, then every single person in Hollywood must have known it to be 100% confirmed fact.

Is this a joke? Like all Hollywood chicks were waitresses before they got famous. Before they were banging a greasy Hollywood producer for a film role they were banging a dishwasher for a dime bag of reggie

Ben Shapiro is taking the stance that all these women calling him out now are basically cowards who helped him victimize girls by not naming names
and that the new women making accusations (Reese Witherspoon, for example) are not being "brave" because they refuse to name names.
Tell us who these men are, and what they did so we can determine wrongdoing and lance the boils if necessary.

Well I'll be damned. Our blind squirrel found an acorn.
Totally agree with you Mr. asurob.
Cherish the moment.

Exactly.
Hell I seem to recall Witherspoon saying she thought she should speak out but was afraid for her career....now that she is rich and famous...never mind the next woman who would become his victim.
Despicable.

That was pretty damn well said and honest.

Being afraid. For your career = playing the game. Women abused afterwards are partly on her shoulders

On the bright side of all of this, Hillary Clinton now has an actual basket of deplorables to hate on. I'll hold my breath.
