Has archaeology.com just acknowledged that climate change is not man-made by saying that it was a contributing factor to the extinction of the woolly mammoth?
Just an observation... But maybe there isn't a scientific consensus on this subject.

The woolly mammoth went extinct about 4,000 years ago, probably due to climate change and human hunting.

Doesn't that fly in the face of the current scientific narrative of today, at least in the form of a plausible theory that the climate change of today is still naturally occurring?

Pragu U did a couple of excellent pieces on this . 1) science behind it 2) beurocracy behind it.
If you care about climate change then maybe the American people should invest in Bill Gates' Breakthrough energy capital.

Climate change has always happened and will continue to happen until the earth turns into a star.

I'm still trying to figure this out...

The climate has always been changing. To truly change the climate man would have to keep it from changing.
Having said that man could be affecting the rate of change. How much, I don't know.

No. The climate had always fluctuated. The issue now is that is had deviated from the normal pattern in a dramatic pattern rapidly since the second industrial revolution.

Maybe he's assuming the suns expansion will swallow the earth lol

quote:Right. Scientists who study the climate are obviously not arguing that the climate has been static and that it's only changing now. They're arguing that humans are contributing to climate change in a way that could profoundly affect human life on the planet. That's a significant distinction.

As Iosh said, just because climate change happened in the past for natural reasons does not mean that it cannot happen in the present for manmade reasons.

What am I to believe? The altruistic honest media has told me two (2) different stories in my lifetime and either doesn't know what they are talking about or is trying to manipulate my thought.

I agree with that. What i don't agree with is the thought that it is a scientific absolute that the climate is changing at an accelerated pace due to us. I don't think that in the grand lifespan of the earth, that around a hundred and forty years is a large enough sample size to declare it as fact.
