Schools closing on Wed. due to high number of staffers taking day off

Remember, it's 'Day without a Woman' this Wed. and this is not the first report I've seen of schools closing due to large number of staff taking the day off. For once, I like the stance of DC public schools. Traffic should be wonderful for those of us who are carrying on as usual!

So does this mean I need to have lunch plans for Wednesday or Thursday? My sammiches are usually made a day in advance, so it seems that Thursday will be the day I need to plan for...right?

This would be a great opportunity for the elementary kids to have a male in the room. Get the dads to sub for 1 day. I'd do it.
I attended a typical elementary school with nothing but female teachers. The only man was the principal. When a teacher was out he came in and taught the class with no preparation. He was great.

Every white male business owner in the country should take "A Week Without a White Male Business Owner"... and layoff their employees UNPAID for a week. I think the f*cking point would be made.

Just curious who these people are that need to be made aware that about half of the population is female?

As a woman not participating in the insanity of that day, I totally agree with you. btw, they are all going to be wearing red that day, so don't wear red! I guess the pink pussy hats are a thing of the past.

We have Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, anniversaries, birthdays, regular holidays, and of course weekends so the ladies in our lives can have time off or be rewarded for being there for all of us guys.

Are they protesting the fact that they pursued a career in education rather than a more lucrative field, hence the gender wage gap?
