Only the GOP could find a way to unanimously agree that something is broken (ACA) while simultaneously ensuring it will never get fixed.

I just wish these stupid fricking uniparty posters would remember this scenario the next time they say it doesn't matter if GOP has majorities. It doesn't matter much on the backend, it matters a ton on the front end of a massive entitlement that will be politically impossible to roll back.

I assume by uniparty posters you mean those claiming that there is a uniparty.

Strange. It would appear it actually doesn't matter if the GOP has both majorities.

Nothing happened.

They wont need Rand. The right thing to do was always to fix Obamacare and they can do that with bipartisan support

If Obamacare hadn't happened, we wouldn't be here. You can't give Democrats 10 ft of entitlements and try to take back 2 and call it progress.

Once they claimed those 10 ft originally it was over.

Point is it doesn't matter years later. The public support won't be there.

It matters on the front end, before Americans get used to additional government encroachment on their lives.

To be fair... this worked for Republicans for at least 3 decades.

They. Still. Don't. Get. It.

The same attitude that got Trump elected is the attitude that killed this bill.

Too bad it was directed towards the wrong candidate.

I still don't understand why they didn't spend the last 8 years crafting a plan that they would all be happy to vote for if they ever were able to take the House, Senate, and Presidency.

Right? What was the plan for the last 8 years?

Oh I mean it works for getting them reelected. It just doesn't work for actually fixing problems. Plus the Dems got smarter and rigged Obamacare to explode. They gambled that the country would break their way when it does explode.

The no vote was better than taking AHCA, but Trump and Ryan ruined the chance to root out the time bomb.

The issue boils down to the Democrats being the party of giving people shite for free, in this case a law changing how insurance fundamentally works, and the Republicans being the party that has to take it away.

Ryan, to his credit, called it straight up just now - It's easy to be the opposition party.

Good. Obamacare will die of its own weight and that will be on the Dems as it should.

The plan was to lose to HRC who looked like an unstoppable force against the conventional GOPe candidates and then keep passing the same bill that got shot down over and over to win reelection.

This is a case of the dog actually catching the car and then not knowing what to do with it.
