Were they paying attention to what happened in the Gump last night?

House Republicans next week will advance legislation that would provide $10 billion in funding for the border wall that President Trump promised during last year's campaign.
The House Homeland Security Committee will mark up the Border Security for America Act, which would allow $10 billion in spending for the wall and related border security measures, including fencing, technology, air assets, and other deterrents.
quote:
It would also provide $5 billion for security at legal ports of entry, add 5,000 border patrol agents, boost air and sea support, and authorize the use of the National Guard along the border.

If you want posh social safety nets, you should support a secure border first.

I will endorse your idiot Luther but only if you fund my fricking wallllll?

Still think we should spend that $10 Billion on killing cartels. Don't need a wall if the people instigating everything is dead.

You will never kill the cartels. Wishful thinking. Build the Wall....

This won't stop them either. Let's lessen our expectations of this thing.

Will it make it through the Senate?
$10B towards the wall is a great fricking start.

If you have the right admin in the Oval Office, bet you it does.

I call bs on all this. Both party establishments are for open borders and there is nothing Trump can do about it. This is all a ploy. That's why I truly despise both parties and truth be known the republicans have been the worst offenders letting illegals invade this country going all the way back to President Ford.

Most of the real criminals get over/get drugs over by driving right on through, tunneling, Miami, or Canada. They can buy the visas, create ID's, and use US citizens to get what they want. No, a wall will only stop the petty criminals, and the future farmers. Nothing wrong with that, but it will not be an end-all-be-all.

Another feel good but meaningless vote to placate the base.
They at least gotta look like they're trying something.

It is not like the wall is going to be built in isolation.
Staff it properly and sensor it properly, see what happens.
and we cannot get rid of the cartels because we cannot invade Mexico to do it and Mexico is rife with corruption so paying them to do it won't work either.

Neither is treating cancer and expecting all positive results but you give it a try anyway. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. The wall will work. Only an idiot would think it would be completely illegal immigrant proof.
So let's pick a number. What would your percentage number be in the decrease of illegal crossers in order to deem the wall a success?
Posted on 9/27/17 at 7:24 pm to Homesick Tiger
A little more to the variable than percentage of illegals, such as drug crime, terrorist attacks, and then see the results against the cost. As of now, I need more assurance we aren't building a worthless mural.
At any cost? What is your threshold, using a CBA, sort of like what is above? Personally, government spending should be justified with a result, not a symbol of feel good by people scared, so they throw the people at anything.
