I heard Obama make a statement in a press conference a few days back that he was proud of the Ukrainians for showing restraint in dealing with Russian backed troops that are assaulting their country.
Obama really went out on a limb there considering that Ukraine has only two options - restraint or annihilation by an by an overwhelming force. Without military backing, weapons or boots on the ground, the Ukraines don't stand a chance.
Leaves the question of which country Putin will cherry pick next to overtake seeing as to how not much of a challenge is being put up by those being invaded.

Even wierder is that the general consensus is that we should involve ourselves in a conflict and back what are basically neo-nazis.
Meanwhile Putin is going to cripple Western Europe with natural gas price increases.
Way too much at stake here for us to be rolling in like cowboys.

This is a result of Obama's failure in foreign policy. Just more evidence of how clueless this community organizer is on the international stage.
Say he doesn't pull back the missile shield. Does Putin invade? I seriously doubt it.
Mr. Limpwrist is a bigger failure than Carter ever hoped to be.

SLOVYANSK, Ukraine — Pro-Russian militiamen battled Ukrainian government forces Monday in the eastern city of Slovyansk, killing at least four troops and shooting down a military helicopter, the government said.
The fierce fighting in Slovyansk, a separatist stronghold, broke out as the Ukrainian government moved to regain control in the eastern part of the country and the key port of Odessa, dispatching a special police unit to that city.

Amazing how these "protesters" keep getting their hands on sophisticated weapons. They must have been consulting with the Benghazi protesters.

Someone isn't keeping up with world events
but there are much easier ways to take jabs at Obama

Well if he is dumb enough to go after a NATO country he is signing his own country's military and financial death warrant.

Russia pretty much has the most Neo Nazi activity in europe, who kill their own citizens and immigrants.
The Ukrainian right sector is only one of the factions involved in this.

The initial impact could be bad but Europe will be fine. Russia could be stuck with no one to sell to esp if China backs out of this deal.

I'm down with the sanctions. Think we should start conducting some exercises in the med and/or black sea, and re-open talks for missile defense in Poland and Czech. If you're suggesting that we go to war with Russia, I'd invite you to gear the frick up and head to Odessa. I'll cobble together some donations for your airfare.

This was going to happen no matter who the president was. Putin is a KGB Lt Col who wants restore Russia's pride and empire. He gives no fricks, dunno why people on here can't get it through their heads.

You're stupid if you think this is true.
A "missile shield" in Poland would do not one thing to dissuade russian tanks from rolling into Ukraine.

Why would a missile shield dissuade Putin from annexing Crimea or rolling tanks over the border?

I'm good with everyone not named Russia getting an invite to NATO.
After all, Putin's recent aggression gave us cover and legitimacy to invite anyone and everyone we want to.
