No offense, but if you are stuck thinking about Fox News vs the rest of msm, then it is high time to broaden your horizons. Nobody should be watching any of that drivel.
Parading NYT and WaPo makes me think you are trolling. If so, well done.
So what are the "credible" news organizations in your mind?

Suppose this is true and we actually did set up a secure back channel to communicate with Russia, what is the "big picture" problem here? Wouldn't that make both sides cooperating with eachother and possibly lead to a stronger partnership between the two countries? If you can get on the good side of one of your biggest enemies, really one of the only ones that can even threaten you, is that a bad thing?
Russia wants the US to be weaker, they don't want to be our ally or friend. It wouldn't shock me at all if they are putting stuff out there to ramp up the chaos. A US in chaos is good for Russia.

@MalcolmNance is pretty freaked about this and he never gets panicky about anything.

Start with journalists, historians, economists, etc... that you trust and follow them. Listen to their podcasts, follow their blogs, join their groups. It tends to network out as you learn of others who are potentially trustworthy. The amount of information available is soon more than can be digested. I've never looked back. A big upside is the lack of yelling and talking over guests. Less advertising is another perk.

That didn't really answer the question.
Who and what outlets do you think are credible, reliable news providers?

Who I follow is my business. You are fishing for a gotcha and I will gladly deprive you of the pleasure.

How are they "putting stuff out there"? Any evidence or plausible theories as of yet?

So now the democrats and a want trust Russia?
Fake news read the whole thing. We have this...
Russians Snookered Comey Into Making Speech Letting Hillary Off The Hook
and now they trust Russia as a source.

So the other day when Putin and Lavrov defended Trump it was all,
"Russians bad, of course they would defend, they are in on it, don't trust"
Now a Russian is saying something suspicious and its all,
"Russians good, they know Trump is bad too, they are helping us impeach him, trust them"
So, which is it guys?
Do we trust the Russians or not?

How do we know that wasn't a trick too?

Spin away, you crazy Trumpkins.

Mueller knows all he has to do is gather enough circumstantial evidence to get a federal judge to sign off on a subpoena of Trumps tax returns and follow the hollowed out trail from there.
Those tax returns are going to be exposed, or Trump might agree to resign first to avoid the public shame.
All this other stuff is just window dressing.
