How many more NFL players will quit?

Titans receiver Rishard Matthews threatened to quit if the NFL makes it mandatory to stand for the national anthem. Owners are expected to discuss the issue next week.

Matthews answered a tweet that asked: “If NFL makes new rule on anthem will you still stay in locker room and face the fine/penalty?” He tweeted, “No I will be done playing football.”

Good for him. I am done with watching the NFL until they stand up and show respect for the flag of the United States of America. Apparently, he does not realize that the NFL policy already states players are expected to stand while the anthem is playing.
I hope the owners unite behind our country and say players stand during the anthem or sit during the game. Second offense will be game suspensions preferably without pay.

Hell yeah, stand up for what you believe Rishard. I hope you don't mind the 11-7 shift stocking shelves at Walmarks.

As I said in the MSB thread, I will respect the hell out of the guy if he puts his money where his mouth is. Not to mean that I agree with his reason for doing so at all, but it takes a lot of balls and conviction to turn away that kind of money based on principles.

We've heard this song and dance before...

quote:

Bryan Cranston said he hopes he doesn’t have to pack his bags, but would “definitely move” if Trump won. “Absolutely, I would definitely move,” the “Breaking Bad” star said on “The Bestseller Experiment” podcast. “It’s not real to me that that would happen. I hope to God it won’t.”

Samuel L. Jackson slammed Trump for running a “hate”-filled campaign and said he would move to South Africa if he wins. “If that motherf---er becomes president, I’m moving my black arse to South Africa,” the movie star quipped to Jimmy Kimmel.

Lena Dunham told Andy Cohen at the Matrix Awards that “I know a lot of people have been threatening to do this, but I really will. I know a lovely place in Vancouver.” The star and creator of HBO’s “Girls” has been a vocal advocate for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee.

Neve Campbell, an actress on the political drama “House of Cards,” vowed to move back home to Canada, while “Orange is the New Black” actress Natasha Lyonne said she would hightail it to a mental hospital.

Exactly 0 NFL players will quit if forced to stand for the anthem.

0.

You can make millions playing in the NFL or make peanuts at a regular job.

This is "I'm moving if Trump wins" all over again.

Hopefully they decide to just go out and play football and not have a pre-game national anthem. This shite's giving me a headache.

I don't play the national anthem before I start my work day. Play it at your tailgate, in your car, or in your headphones if you insist on hearing it. Players wanting something to "protest" can take their shite to Twitter or something.
