I searched and went back 4 pages and didn't see anything. At any rate, his responses were measured, logical, and civil. I don't know what I expected or why I haven't heard him before. Good stuff imho.

Didn't he just support the Paris climate shtick, and state that "We need to address climate change"?

Addressing is very different from doing anything about it.

Just a Head fake.

Move along

I hope so. It's very possible you're right. Regardless of any public statements by Tillerson, Trump has the final say.

It's been signed and ratified to my knowledge. There has been talk of leaving it, but that is complicated. Anyone who agrees to the deal has to wait four years before leaving it. The simplest solution would be to not participate in it while sending observers.

That said, Exxon Mobil did write the president asking him to stay in the deal, and that might inform Tillerson's statements.

I don't see the problem with the Paris Agreement to be honest. It is fairly benign in its wording, and has no method of enforcement.

You don't get to be CEO of Exxon by having the personality and being dumb like Barry from ????

Damn if a former Exxon CEO and current Trump cabinet member acknowledges the reality of climate change we might actually be at a point where we can get things done.

So much for "foreign policy experience" being a necessity.

I'd say Tillerson's "foreign policy" experience dwarfs that of most predecessors. Exxon operates in most countries of the world on six continents. Name one political hack that can match his understanding of world geopolitical dynamics.

Who knew experience with foreign interactions to actually get things done would come in handy?

it was never ratified.
best thing would be for Trump o submit the Paris agreement to the Senate for ratification.
Obama signed it, but his signature is meaningless without the advice and consent.

Agreed. But, lets face it....the bar was set pretty low considering the last two ASSCLOWNS who held that office.
