Obama has no real reason to go after Comey at this point. The little political points it may score pale in comparison to the possible backlash. It's more logical that a new incoming administration would make the move. Even for Trump it carries risk, unless Comey is so distrusted and unliked by his own organization that Trump has no choice.

I don't know that Comey is corrupt. Maybe he's spineless or incompetent. His eleventh hour surprise that he was reopening the investigation is not the act of someone who was in the pocket of the Democrats
Obviously he should go. But I would love to see him in front of the TV cameras telling the country about orders that Lynch and Obama gave him.

No, Comey is on his third year of his 10 year contract. Any President can fire him at anytime.
Although I wish the legal eagles here would pipe-in because I have heard he can only be fired for specific reasons. I think the writing is on the wall for all the specific reasons-for him to go!
There will be no trust in the FBI again umless the top guys are cleared-out. And I would suspect the Comey replacement, (Rudy?) would fire the guy under Comey once he is appointed.
