In all of 2016, nearly 90,000 Christians were martyred around the world, according to a new study by an Italian research group.
According to the Center for Studies on New Religions, which plans to release its full report next month, a Christian was martyred about once every six minutes in 2016, making them the most persecuted religious group in the world.
Massimo Introvigne, director of CENSUR, told Vatican Radio last week that approximately 70 percent of the martyred Christians were from “tribal villages” in Africa because Christians often refuse to take up arms during conflicts.
The other 30 percent, according to the study, were Christians who fell victim to terrorism or governmental persecution.
Before the OP link is bashed because it is not CNN or MSM.
CNN reported this in 2015.

Don't you know that Christians being persecuted doesn't matter. Especially if it's a white Christian male!

Christians are not a minority in the US therefore they are fair game. At least that's what I've heard from the left.

No one has said that there aren't places in the world where Christians are persecuted. No one has said this persecution isn't tragic. Being a cultural or religious minority in a region tends to be extremely difficult.
We're simply saying that Christians claiming persecution in the United States are full of shite.

Just like blacks or muslims claiming persecution are full of shite.

I wonder why people aren't clamoring to bring in Christian refugees like they are Muslim? Could it be a frick you to mom and dad?

No ones claiming that Christians in the US are being persecuted, however, its intellectually dishonest to deny Christianity hasn't been under assault. And then the left loves to come along and mock that as Christians bitching about persecution. Quite subtle, but whatever works, right?

if we're using worldwide data like in OP, i don't see how Muslims aren't #1

There it is
I'm not saying Christians can't be persecuted because they are the majority here. I'm saying they simply aren't persecuted, probably because they are a majority.
I find it amusing that in a thread discussing persecution via murder, anyone would want to discuss "being called a bigot" or "being told to bake a cake" in the same breath.
Unless Christians are being murdered left and right in the US I'm not aware of?

No it's not.

And if you go per capita, I have to think the Yazidis are wayyyyy up there.

outside of a few micro examples (like the cake baking stuff), usually this "assault" is typically more limited to removing public-institutional influence that Christianity should have never gained in the first place (due to our secular government)

Wait, what? I see the idea not only proposed but vociferously defended frequently on this board alone

......and they couldn't count on obama to help them either. Our pal barack hussein obama (the muslim) slammed the door on Christian refugees from the Middle East. Basically left his pals with ISIS (the JV Team) to kill them off, which they did with gusto.
So obama abandons the Christians and betrays Israel, while he sings the glories of Islam. Now the taxpayers are going to be left to pay this traitor's retirement. Hummm?

There's a difference between being a martyr and whining because someone tells you "happy holidays".

I was thinking the same thing.
We need a MLM group. Would be perfect irony, bc just like BLM, they can feign outrage while the majority of the killings are done by other Muslims.

But "secular" government doesn't have an origin of influence, right? "Secularist" come out of the womb and home completely impartial. Thank the Lord Jesus for those "secularist" with no agenda.
