Reminder to law abiding citizens of Louisiana....

If you made any online or mail order catalog purchases of goods that were shipped from outside Louisiana, and the seller did not charge Louisiana sales tax, you are required to pay it with your income tax. It is 9% of the sale price. LINK
I just wanted to put this out there because I know there are a lot of conservatives on this board that are pretty serious about following the law - including misdemeanors such as crossing the U.S./Mexico border without stopping for inspection by US immigration agents. Wouldn't you feel so bad if you found out you were a criminal just as bad as all those illegally crossing Mexicans? Now you know, so you can make sure to follow the law and not be a no good criminal like those illegal aliens.

Thanks for the reminder but I keep an Excel spreadsheet with all of my online purchases, not just Amazon, which did not charge sales tax.
I enter the purchases total on TurboTax when the question is asked and I print out the spreadsheet and keep it with my IT540 copy.
Maybe when you grow up and get a job you will have to pay income taxes, too.
