Reid Implies Sequester Caused Explosion That Killed 7 Marines
I think that's quite a stretch
He started by paying homage to the fallen Marines from his state (which happened the day before I believe) then segued into talking about the continuing resolution (seeking to end the sequester) which was what was already scheduled to be debated that day. How exactly would you have segued from one to the other?
I watched that part of the speech and did not see him imply that the sequester caused the explosion. He did say that the sequester might adversely affect maintenance and training in the future. Is that what you are upset about? I think he was using the instance to show the sacrifices that our military makes and that we should not do them a disservice by letting the sequester go through.
What have Senate Republicans had to say about this? I didn't see McConnell or Ayotte mention it and they were there when Reid was speaking.
