Question for the Conservative

Do you want Federal funding significantly cut for the area where you live? Examples of this would be closing Federal facilities such as military bases, field offices, etc. Funding would also be cut for infrastructure, research, and the like.
Bonus question: How many of your conservative friends do you think feel the same way?

I've stated every single government program needs to make cuts. We are 17 trillion in debt. Time to buckle down and fix this thing.

Federal expenditures need to be cut all across the country to get the federal budget in line. Continuing to run deficits is not sustainable in the long term.
Cuts to entitlement programs should be item #1 to be discussed since that is by far the biggest expense in the federal budget, beating out defense spending by a wide margin.

Military and Highways are appropriate federal government functions. I would be in favor of cutting spending in my area for things that are not.
As for major cuts like military base closings, they should be phased out whenever possible to avoid trauma in the local community. The community has to find a way to cover the costs of infrastructure which was built to accommodate the increased population.

You know what needs to be cut...NASA
How much more money are going to blow trying to see what's on Mars?

No. Conservatives are OK with spending on the military and roads. We want the end to federal spending on all forms of welfare, soc security, medicare, medicaid, arts, disabilities, food stamps, child care, education, foreign aid, etc.
My taxes going to a base = protection for me. My taxes going to food stamps for Clotilda = nothing for me. It is theft from a producer to give to a non producer in return for votes. Let Clotilda buy her own damn food or go on a diet.

I would say just because somebody doesn't agree with it doesn't make it unintelligent. It just means they disagree with it.

This isn't a conservative principle but a libertarian one. Also, I hope you aren't ever in need one day. You already rely on federal subsidies and programs that you don't even realize.

The base near me (MacDill) is safe but there's other shite that needs Fed cutting like the effects on sea turtles humping during happy hour & shite like that.

infrastructure
On state & local yes but an infrastructure bill for the US needs to be funded. Here in FL not as much as other places like the NE.

Most want other people's shite cut, not there's.

I'm all for cuts on everything but defense.

Why can't that be done privately? You either use NASA for a military purpose (for example, missile or asteroid defense) or its funding should be cut.

Yes. The Federal Government is too big, spends too much money, and has completely obliterated its origins as a limited powers central government.

Funny you should ask that. This very question is in the news locally today. And yes, I support all cuts.

Instead of whining about necessary cuts, these regressives should cut their expensive support for illegals and all associated expenses, welfare services, caving in to teachers' unions, etc, etc. Our infrastructure here is crumbling, roads in the better parts of the county are full of potholes, grass is not being cut in medians and other county areas, etc, etc. We have seen what happens when the baby gets addicted to suckling from the government. He will never get weaned! Time for all to grow up and become more self sufficient!
