The President sees the "big picture" here in my opinion. Opening up more public lands and driving up the supply side up helps most the country. Imagine gasoline at $1.20-$1.50 prices and how much that extra change can help spur the economy. Almost like a tax cut in its own right.

Truth is Louisiana needs to diversify its economy the way Texas has during this rocky patch.

Texas doesn't make excuses, you have to actively recruit and attract business to your state. Louisiana has to grow out of this gas boom and bust cycle like Pittsburgh did with Steel. We can't be so dependent on oil and gas.

You can't just say diversify w/o options.

What are the viable options?

You need a governor that's actually a leader first. Not the same type of good ole boys the people have put in power for decades. The people of Louisiana are as much to blame for the states problems as the beuracrats. They keep electing these shite heads every damn time.

It's not an excuse to say Texas has more natural resources. It's just a fact.

Texas is leading the country in wind energy. For wind energy to succeed all you need is a coast line, suprise Louisiana has one of those

Where are all these fed lands that are unexploited?

That aside, the only way we're getting to $1.50 gas is if US companies drill themselves into bankruptcy (possible) or OPEC floods the market in order to bankrupt American shale producers (less likely). Bottom line is this idea that sub $40 oil is sustainable doesn't jibe with the economic realities of finding and producing hydrocarbons.

Our President will finally have us back to paying a fair price at the pump after Bush and Obama allowed them to gouge us for many years.

If we could produce and export oil, where's the problem with low gas prices. Downstream can benefit from a glut.

Are you saying that oil, truck nuts, MAGA hats, and drive thru alcohol stores is not diverse enough? That is it, meet me at sonic.
