Thats nice. What are you trying to say?? Load up the Great Plains to produce the countries energy needs?
What environmental impact would an array that scale have on the local environment?

Probably not a real moron like one of the 3 Stooges, but close. Clearly over qualified for Special Olympics and would brow-beat the other contestants with his "really good brain".
A U.S. News and World Report chart shows estimates of how many birds are killed each year by different fuel sources.

Hardly anyone lives there. Doesn't take much to be one third. Can New York get one third from wind? Solar?
Also, what is worse for birds and bat - wind or nuclear? Why aren't we pushing nuclea more. It is the best near-term solution for the environment.

The OP is misrepresenting what Trump said. He said it in the context of wanting to diversify America's energy, including wind.
But he doesn't want to rely on any one sector of energy too much.

Coal kills 8 million birds per year?

It will take years and years if not decades to move away from coal and multiply natural gas infrastructure and other forms of energy.
dont do it?
obviously it would have been better to start this 10 years ago, but we never did, and that was dumb, so we very definitely need to start now.
its not as if its some impossible task. it would be like changing every light bulb in America. its not difficult, we know what to do, we just need to do it.

I've made this rant before, and I'll most likely make it again, but I have no idea why conservatives are so against alternative energies. It's such a no brainer of a win win for conservatives and liberals. For liberals it's a no-brainer in that they want to get off of fossil fuels as quickly as possible. For conservatives, it's an investment into a new industry that's most likely going to be worth trillions of dollars, and we're just going to cede leadership to the Japanese/Chinese/Germans? Plus every barrel of oil we don't have to use is a kick in the nuts to countries that our worse enemies like Venezuela, Iran, and other Middle Eastern countries that fund terrorism around the world.

When he said that he said it mocking all the environmentalist that said that putting up a wall would divert bird species from migrating.
You have to remember tiny details like that to really enjoy the trolling of Trump. Trump is in y'all's heads

Conservatives aren't against alternative energies. Conservatives are against stupid ideas that do not make good economic sense.
Wind energy sucks. Dead birds, horrible for the environment, cost way way to much. Solar is getting very close to being a good addition but it only works when the sun is high.

"The wind kills all your birds," Trump said at an August rally. "All your birds, killed. You know, the environmentalists never talk about that."

So, conservatives are for a fully developed and fully implemented alternative energy source that has already demonstrated that it can satisfy the full energy demands of large communities in a cost effective manner?
That's great. I'm glad people like you weren't in charge during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. I'd still be lighting oil lamps in my house.

Obviously we know they aren't killing "all your birds" as that is hyperbole.
However, here is an article that says 39 million birds a year are being killed.
LINK
I would think, as a liberal wanting to protect the environment this would concern you. The article explains that the wind industry (Companies that deal in wind turbines) restrict scientists to a small area to find dead birds around the larger windmills to keep the reported numbers artificially low)
So, for you, which is more important? A clean source of energy that is very expensive....or the environment/wildlife preservation?
