Sorry the source is CNN but it doesn't appear to be fake news.

LINK

He says his nominee to be announced within approximately 2 weeks after the inauguration. Cruz no longer on the list?

If it's a sitting politician, it will be Mike Lee.

I think Cruz is much more the constitutionalist, but I may be mistaken. Either would be fine, I tend to like Cruz more.

Cruz is a win-win

Young, and staunch conservative who could serve 30-40 years on the court

Cruz turns you down and it's hard for him to parade around calling himself a "protector" of the constitution when he bowed out of the greatest role to do so

I read somewhere that Cruz is actually a contender. I think one of the females on his list will be chosen.

While I think having a conservative female justice would be a good thing, I think having a young, conservative constitutionalist on the Court would be a better thing. With all of the court openings available at all levels, I hope he picks the best person, regardless of politically correct factors. So far, he hasn't disappointed, so we'll see!

The younger the better.

I'm betting on the good Justice from Michigan. Would love if it were Price, though.

Just a guess, but I think it will be Diane Sykes. She sits on the 7 circuit. She has backed voted ID laws, is pro-2A, backed religious freedom, backed private people's right to discriminate against gays if they want (freedom of association), she has experience at both the state and federal level (I do not believe, as much as this board wants, that your going to see a 40 something year old appointed), and she is a female. Based on her rulings, she's on of the most conservative people Trump has mentioned.

And I've said it before, but I don't understand why everyone thinks Cruz is an option. Why put a list out only to choose someone not on it? I'd be willing to bet that it's going to be someone from that list he released.

Cruz was never seriously on the list. It's more likely to be the easter bunny.

Don't be surprised if they're all blocked until 2018 (maybe).
