Gone are the days of the community agitator w/o a clue wasting billions of taxpayer money on boondoggle projects like Solyndro, only to see those ill-advised endeavors go belly-up. President Trump's EO clears the way for the mining of clean coal, which will greatly benefit America in the twin arenas of jobs & energy production.

Life is good when a competent, pro-business President is sitting in the White House. No need to gloat, though. I sincerely hope that the "You didn't build that" community agitator is enjoying his "lost month" in Tahiti.

Gotta love those Hollywood morons who think they actually understand the environment. Moore, Titanic Boy, etc. Truth IS, they don't know jack squat.

I don't know much about this field.

Are people going to make capital expenditures on this without much visibility. I haven't read (watched) your link to see if it addresses that.will.

Even if Rs were in WH etc for 12 more years, which is a crapshoot, I'm wondering if you recoup costs of conversion, much less any new facilities.

I need to educate myself on this stuff.

There are 70,000 coal jobs and dropping in America and 260,000 solar jobs.

But, yeah, let's chase the delusion that coal is coming back because the coal jobs are in red states and the solar jobs are in blue.

The solar jobs are viable through government subsidy and the coal jobs are eliminated by government regulation.

So who is being propped up?

Why not encourage the free market system to develop energy sources as they see fit? I'm sure the day will come when some of our conventional sources are no longer being used, but Obama acted like alternative sources like wind & solar were already capable of doing the heavy lifting w/regards to America's energy needs. He was DEAD WRONG.

Nothing about today's action affects the solar power industry to the slightest degree. Stop acting like it's an either/or dynamic.

What does that mean? A few hundred more coal extraction jobs on net? A rich, thriving West Virginia?

It means that an industry that environmental elitists like Obama gutted now has a fighting chance to make a comeback. That's what it means.

Just saw on the 5 that these regulations are not even in place, because it is still in court.

I guess it means the supply and demand will be greater influences on the number of coal jobs, that's a good thing , correct?

Automation will still be a problem in the coal industry. Like manufacturing these jobs are not coming back.

When automation takes over coal mining I'm guessing these people won't be so pro-coal.
