It should be fascinating to watch how this develops. It will certainly not score points with the good Catholics with large families. Hypocrisy yet again!

How is this hypocrisy, does the Pope have a lot of kids or something?

Serious question as I not Catholic. I respectfully ask, how often has a Pope gone against Biblical truth?

Ok, let me spell it out for you. The church doesn't allow contraception but somehow people are supposed to procreate less! I guess he expects everyone to follow the monastic rule. And try explaining the natural method to the illiterate natives in the mountains of South America or the jungles of Africa.

I thought overt religious threads were frowned upon?

I'm not Catholic either, nor am I a scholar of papal history. But it strikes me as completely hypocritical to have always encouraged people to multiply and now make a 180 and tell them to make fewer children. I can only imagine the confusion!

Did he tell the Muslims to do the same?

You mean the pope is advocating for birth control?

I was unaware of anything like that and I would argue that this is not religious since sustainability is an environmental issue.

I don't know any other way to have fewer children except, God help us, abortion.

It's insanity. We need more children in order to sustain the aging population

Well, the kind he's getting would be very difficult to result in a pregnancy.

This is probably the worst time for Catholics to slow birth rates.

Maybe the Pope, like Hillary, is getting his Tax Free Foundation funded by the Saudis.

So, did The Pope actually say this?

Or, did some panelist say he said it?
