But there is a six month delay.

quote:

President Donald Trump has decided to end the Obama-era program that grants work permits to undocumented immigrants who arrived in the country as children, according to two sources familiar with his thinking. Senior White House aides huddled Sunday afternoon to discuss the rollout of a decision likely to ignite a political firestorm — and fulfill one of the president’s core campaign promises.

quote:

In a nod to reservations held by many lawmakers, the White House plans to delay the enforcement of the president’s decision for six months, giving Congress a window to act, according to one White House official. But a senior White House aide said that chief of staff John Kelly, who has been running the West Wing policy process on the issue, “thinks Congress should’ve gotten its act together a lot longer ago.”

Everything he does he tries to allow congress the opportunity to do their jobs,

6 months from now they'll have done nothing and claim they tried so hard.

I agree with the principles of DACA and Trump is going to get a lot of shite for this. But he's absolutely doing the right thing here.

I love how Trump was supposed to be Hitler, yet he has been greatly reducing the power of the Executive Branch.

Paul Ryan then: DACA unconstitutional
Paul Ryan now: Trump shouldn't scrap DACA

Should allow them a chance to earn their citizenship. Either through military or peace corps etc..

You don't actually think this shite is going to happen do you?

They'll sluff off just like everything else illegals do. Free school, path to free citizenship, etc.

More BS and freebees for assholes coming here illegally.

They should have thought about that before now.

You must not know very many illegals. The ones I know work their butts off.

As for those brought here as kids, they haven't had anything handed to them. I am friends with a couple of them. They've also worked their tails off and have fought for everything they have. Your characterization is totally false.

I believe Rysn's argument wss that DACA should be a Congressional action not an executive action. He continues to support that position. I support DACA and actually think there should be a moratorium on deportations for a few years. There are 500,000 illegals in Houston...who else will handle the home rebuilds? Remember Nuevo Orleans?

In other words, nothing will happen if the freedom caucus and enough democrats oppose it and DACA is gone once and for all.

I happen to have been closely associated with two several years back. What does any of your statement have to do with letting "any illegal" enter this country.

The cut-off criteria should be, well if you cross the border illegally, check back with us in a year and if you haven't done anything wrong we'll let you skip ahead of Dexter Obramowitz who has been waiting to legally immigrate here from Mongostovia since 2011.

They should never have been allowed to integrate into our society, end of story. We have a border that is not enforced and it's costing us billions every year and the only reason it happens is chamber of commerce, bleeding hearts and democrats.

Knowing a few individuals does not make it false. That said, so what if they work their butts off? You don't know what else they do 5 minutes before you see them or 5 minutes after they leave.

We offer citizenship to many people that are not US citizens if they serve 4 years in our military. Most these kids have been here their whole lives and lives in US longer than native country. Moreover, it's not their fault they ended up here. You think it's fair to punish them for their parents mistake? Make them earn it.

But by coming here they broke the law.

Say at age 19 I held up a convenience store with a gun and got away with its money, but not before accidentally shooting a customer when they tried to be a hero. I'm never caught, turn my life around, and become a hard-working middle class member of society.

Years later new evidence comes to light, the cops crack the case, and show up at my house with a warrant for my arrest. Should all that hard work keep me from facing the consequences of my actions from years ago? I think not.
