It's laughable that the libs are blaming Putin. Your policies enabled Putin.

Even Poland called Obama out on this way before this election cycle.

quote:

Since U.S. President George W. Bush left office, Polish officials have grown increasingly uneasy with what they view as a fair-weather friendship from Washington.

quote:

From their perspective, the Poles have made a series of outsized commitments to U.S. military efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, only to watch as President Barack Obama sacrificed their interests on the altar of the Russian "reset."

quote:

Obama had scrapped a Bush-era plan to station missile defense systems in Poland to intercept Iranian missiles in hopes of securing Russia’s support for sanctions against Iran. The cables confirmed Poland’s worst suspicions and contradicted the administration’s denials that the change in plans was prompted by concerns about Russia.

quote:

Adding insult to injury, it was revealed that Obama had pulled the plug on the interceptors on Sept. 17, 2009, the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s invasion of Poland. At the time, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk noted bitterly that "I can only have the satisfaction of being the first prime minister over the past 15 years who isn’t so enchanted with our ally."

In fact, even the very liberal publication stated:

quote:

The golden age of Polish-American relations has passed.

quote:

The Russian reset has delivered little of the reciprocity the Obama administration envisioned: Moscow may have agreed to meek U.N. sanctions against Iran, but Russian engineers have simultaneously helped jump-start Iran’s nuclear plant at Bushehr and Russian actors have made themselves handy to Iranian-controlled companies looking to acquire sanctioned energy and nuclear technologies.

Long story short.... You hate what happened libs.... OH WELL... you created it. You created what Putin is today.

The world knows it. Own it. Man up.

What really sucks about it... Poland had actual SKIN in the game.

quote:

, "Poland is one of America’s few allies with troops in Afghanistan whose mission, without caveats, is to fight. Poland, unlike Germany and France, deploys its soldiers to the war with the full expectation that they will find and kill enemy combatants."

Terrible decision by the Obama administration. Trusting Putin and trying to reset US/Russian relations was a huge mistake. Hopefully Trump is unwavering in his support of our East European allies and doesn't cozy up with Putin.

Thank you SO much for reminding us all that OBAMA caused Poland to weaken its defenses against Evil Russia.

OBAMA.

And now the task of taming the Russian Bear is that much more difficult for the USA because of OBAMA'S weakness.

Let's all remember that he told Putin back in 2012: "I will have more flexibility after I'm re-elected". Obama is a very flexible man, apparently, when it comes to disarming Poland and disarming the USA.

Yah right. US is going to be governed by orders from the Kremlin. Trump is just a lackey of Putin.

I'm not getting the point of this thread. Is Putin a legitimate menace or not?

As a conservative who has consistently opposed Obama's accommodation to Russia over the past 8 years, why am I wrong now to oppose the same from Trump?

You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want to make fun of the Obama and the Democrats for calling out Romney and the Republicans in 2012, fine. But if you're going to do that, then I don't see how you can now switch sides and say that the Democrats were right all along. Which is it? Was Obama right or wrong in 2012? I think he was wrong.

Clinton allowed NK to get nukes and the dear leader greatly aided Iran in their pursuit of nukes.

This is a great example of "interest creep." We never had an interest after communism fell in protecting micro states in Europe from Russian influence. Just because we say "this is a vital interest to the USA" doesn't make it so.

Poland is not, and hasn't been a vital US interest in real terms since 1991. What it has always been is a vital European and Russian interest, and we have stayed involved because of that. But it's not a US interest, and it was an inevitability that the Poles would realize this.

I thought Russia was mostly unhappy with This administration due to placement of missile defense systems?

I'm sure us and the Saudis starting a war in Syria, undermining the pro Russia government in Ukraine and funding his anti Russia challenger had something to do with it too.

I don't think we should have planned misses in their country anyway. That's against bush too.
