Which is kind of funny, since crime involving firearms has increased by 35% in the past year.
Piers Morgan's response to this exact stat tonight was, roughly: "Oh c'mon! Do you know how many gun murders took place in Britain this year compared to the US?"
He appears completely oblivious (by design IMO, I believe he knows that it logically works against his argument but for propaganda's sake he avoids acknowledging it) to how invalid that statement is as a rebuke of the statistics. It's mind numbing that he trots that response out there. And he always does it. I knew he would do it tonight because I've heard him use that response to side step the death blow that statistic gives to his argument time and time again in past shows. And then he just rambles until he has the effect of changing the subject and not addressing the serious implication that that statistic has.
He is incapable of objective or intellectually honest discussion of the issue, and that is thoroughly reprehensible IMO.
