DC itself is 90% democrat and is not far from 3 mega democrat cities- NY, Philly, Baltimore. That's tens of thousands of people that wil come to a democratic inauguration.
It's equivalent to having the inauguration in east Texas for republicans.

Completely agree. I'm someone who isn't necessarily pleased with Trump being our president, but it's raining in a city with 85+% democrats and a ton of African-Americans.
Obviously the turnout was going to be much higher for Obama's inaugurations.

You clearly don't know anything about the region or surrounding states. I grew up just outside DC. There are literally millions of trump voters within driving distance to DC. Millions.
