Football teams are in cities. In cities people are more educated and have more exposure to a diverse group of individuals. It's a lot easier to hate on people that you never really interact with.

Almost every NFL team is based in a large, urban area, pretty much where all the Democrats in the country are congregated.

It's actually surprising the skew isn't more.

NFL fan demographic can be a bit more suburban and even rural, though. While not necessarily disputing the results, I'm curious as to how/where they located the "fans" in this.

Yeah. Few surprises. Kind of shocked Carolina doesn't lean a bit more red and LA more blue.

Football fans are more regional in nature than a lot of other sports. Only in the North East does basically every single city have a team...I imagine most of the gulf coast identifies with NOLA and the saints right?

Bigotry based on where people live really is no different than bigotry based on race or religion.

The well-educated in cities typically live in a much more secure bubble than anyone in rural areas. I get such a laugh from my NY and SF friends who preach about diversity, yet live in a whiter part of town than I could find anywhere in Alabama and send their children to 30k a year fricking pre-K schools.

Sample size of around 70-72 per team with that meany independents/no answer wouldn't pass as valid sample size.

It's easy to hate people you interact with on a daily basis. Much easier actually.

Have you ever driven in traffic????

If they polled in the metro area, I am completely unsurprised. Most of NC's metro areas (both Charlotte and the Tri-Cities) are heavily comprised of transplants, and usually from more blue parts of the country.

I just spent the morning driving to the to boonies to buy cracklin and jumbo shrimp. I don't hate people that live outside of the city. I'm saying that the values of the left are far more present in cities generally. The left openly celebrates diversity. Cities are more diverse and exposure to people increases your empathy towards them.

There is no bigotry to be found in my statements.

If they polled season ticket holders I believe they'd get
far different results.More important to have those
folks are your side than deadbeat urbanites who watch on TV

Are we really equating a NY Giants football fan who's a democrat with someone who supports the kneelers?

If anything, this points out how far to the left of mainstream democrats that the Kneelers are.

I assumed a lot of their fan base was in SC as well.

I wouldn't quite say that. For someone naturally predisposed to openness, it has a synergistic effect. Conversely, a presdisposition to in-group affection would likely be magnified by proximity and diversity.
