I was never in favor of a wall but I agree with a lot of what you've written. Just seems to me that with the political will some rules could be drafted that wouldn't encourage others.

The WALL, which is already under construction in the form of new renovation of old and existing fences and walls, will continue to be built. That sounds like a pivot.
Oh it is...

I certainly don't have the text. I don't really have a problem with Trump agreeing that he would not veto a bill that said we won't deport Dreamers. I think you and I are in agreement on the fact that the position he took yesterday is no different than the position he had at the time he announced that he was rescinding DACA. (Let Congress do it). I think the Democrats are frankly so stupid, and as usual have their heads up their own asses, that they think they got him to agree to do something he already agreed to do: refrain from vetoing a bill that says we won't deport Dreamers who meet the DACA rule.
If he ultimately welshes on the wall,he broke his word. All the pearl clutchers who think that Trump supporters are neanderathals because they didn't abandon him after "Grab her by the PWord" will face a tsunami of abandoning Trump support if there is no wall. Americans and Mexico now needs to see the wall to know we will actually enforce the law.
Although I can see how a wall would help, it is not the ONLY thing that we need to fix this pressing problem that is created by having laws that are too mushy, currently unenforced, and open to interpretation. I care less about the wall than permanently clarifying who gets to be a citizen, and thus who gets to VOTE. I believe that should be done with a constitutional amendment that is two sentences long. (1) You are not a citizen by "birth" if either of your parents are illegally here; and (2) You have no right to vote unless you are a US Citizen.

I never had a problem with DACA. I had a problem with the way it was implemented. Get the implementation right and most American's will be all good. These kids didn't break the law, their parent's did. I do have a problem with DAPA, but that was declared unconstitutional and is no longer in existance.

Join the AA or IA and let me know what you find out. I'm looking forward to your results.

The Dreamers were never gonna get thrown out. The only question is what can Our President leverage out of the Democrats in exchange for their staying.
