It is getting easier and easier for Trump to squash this witch hunt and not have it look shady.

Andrew Weissmann
Weissmann was the FBI's general counsel while Mueller was FBI director. In early 2015, he was selected to serve as chief of the fraud section in the Justice Department's criminal division. He has also worked as a partner at Jenner & Block and was the director of the Enron Task Force from 2002 until 2005. He has spent most of his career at the Department of Justice. During the 1990s, Weissmann worked on a case related to the mafia and Russian organized crime that involved Felix Sater, a Trump business partner who is now a focus of Mueller's probe.

I’m a bit at a loss trying to figure out what you think happened here. Help me out.

I think this:

Is the important part.

The 2015 part is important too. That is when the investigation was officially squashed by the DOJ.

With what? Trumpkins have been flogging this uranium story as a B-B-BUT CLINTON whatabout for over a year now. The central revelation of Tuesday's Hill rehash was that federal prosecutors had more evidence than they showed in court when they arrested the Russians. News flash: every single federal prosecution ever has more evidence than they show in court. That's why the feds have a ridiculous winning percentage, they don't shoot contested jumpers when they can dunk. Equating evidence not shown in court to a cover-up isn't gonna convince anyone who isn't a Trump dead-ender of anything.

Can you use this story to make political hay about the Clinton Foundation? Sure, to the extent having HRC as a punching bag is still useful. But there's no dirt on the FBI here.

Then why do they keep stonewalling on damn near everything from the Clinton investigation, Fusion GPS and that bullshite dossier and now this as well?

The FBI has a credibility issue and a very big one.

Of course not. For the most part, the rank and file of the FBI did their job. It was corrupt heads of the FBI and the DOJ that have got caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

Thankfully it sounds like the informant who confirmed the corruption will get to speak publicly.

Hell Mueller was in it up to his arse. He acted as the go between. He's definitely facing indictment.
