This is a four part tweet. 1. I want to take ownership of a mistake I made.
2. Speaking at a party in what I thought was a personal conversation, I nevertheless made a stupid remark about the first lady.
3. My editors have made it clear my behavior was not in keeping with the standards of the Times, and I agree.
4. My mistake, referring to unfounded rumors, shouldn’t reflect on anyone else and I apologize profusely.

I heard an unfounded rumor that his mom, Nora Ephron was a hooker and his dad Carl really really likes pizza. I didn't repeat it though.

A journalist should be criticized more for such remarks, especially since it involves the first Lady, who hasn't done anything to warrant such ridiculousness.
But I also thought that it was ridiculous people gave Trump a pass for the years he spent lying about the birther conspiracy and the sources he promised to reveal, but didn't.

I'm so disappointed in some of you 4D chess masters. You realize this guy basically just got a story about Melania being a former hooker published without having to take any responsibility for it, right?
