quote:

“If our journalists are perceived as biased or if they engage in editorializing on social media, that can undercut the credibility of the entire newsroom,” declared the New York Times in the public post. “We’ve always made clear that newsroom employees should avoid posting anything on social media that damages our reputation for neutrality and fairness. This memo offers more detailed guidelines.”

“In social media posts, our journalists must not express partisan opinions, promote political views, endorse candidates, make offensive comments or do anything else that undercuts The Times’s journalistic reputation,” they warned. “Our journalists should be especially mindful of appearing to take sides on issues that The Times is seeking to cover objectively.”

Good job.

Now maybe they can do that with their actual paper’s non-editorial content.

Wish I could give this an Up and a Down.

Up for the irony.

Down because some idiots will actually agree.

Yep, but it's really a matter of convenience that requires mental gymnastics.

For instance, private employees being fired for making racist comments on Facebook. That's ok in the prog playbook.

Hide it and hopefully people will forget how biased you are.

It's disturbing that it's not already industry-standard.

Through the Editorial Board more than likely.

Thanks for confirming what we already knew, NYT. Your "reporters" are really activists and you're having to "warn" them not to show it anymore on social media to appear unbiased. So in other words, you are by definition "fake news".
