So, the question is Why? Why are pro gun organizations committed and anti gun organizations are not? Could it be that the general public is pro gun?

Who is Chris Matthews?

He's that war hero that saved all those kids from that chemical arty attack - he later started a charity organization that helps immigrant children get early acceptance into Harvard and Yale.

I think all his fame and notoriety eventually landed him a gig as a network news anchor but that was too trivial for a man like him as he turned it down and went on to work other gigs a short time later.

Nope. It's more simple.

People who are directly and immediately effected by the removal of something care 1000% more than the people who are not directly effected.

Abortion: People who want/get one care more. People who just believe it to be wrong and want it stopped do not.
Guns: People who own them and would have their actions restricted care more, people who just think they're scary do not.
Welfare/Medicare, any social welfare program: Same thing. The people getting foodstamps care 1000% more than the people bitching about tax dollars going toward it.

Gun-control advocacy has always been a mile wide and an inch deep. That's why gun-control is a failure in ideology. Example: the utter and complete obsession with the NRA by gun-control advocates. They blame the NRA for every shooting tragedy, the blame the NRA for their political failures, the blame the NRA when they stub their toes. They call the NRA both a massively funded political juggernaut and a paper tiger, within the same calendar year (2012-2013). Which is fine, let the ignorant masses blame the NRA, let the SAF and GOA do their work in the courts. Let the hundreds of truly grassroots pro-gun organizations do their work at the local levels. This is the result:

At the end of the day, facts trump emotions in the courts.
