A gun bolt pistol? That's a new one on me. A female discussing something she knows nothing about. I'm shocked.

I get his point. I don't think he is calling gun owners or the NRA evil commies, but rather a populace dedicated and determined to win their cause.

On a level I admire the NRA, even though I don't agree with them ideologically. It takes a strong resolve to refuse to bend on an issue, especially one that can get as emotionally charged as gun control.

Matthews being Matthews...

But Ho Chi Minh wasn't screwing around when he said...

“You will kill ten of us, we will kill one of you, but in the end, you will tire of it first.

I read his logic like this:

We didn't win in Vietnam because we weren't committed to the long haul. The Viet Cong were. Soooo, the correct thinking people in America who know guns must be banned are not committed to solving the problem. The NRA is committed to fighting solutions....forever.

When Obama was president I remember a conservative guest asking Chris 'If you're unbiased why have you never said a negative thing about Obama in 6 years?'

Chris: "In all honesty, I would. But he has never said anything I've disagreed with."

Then why didn't he use the US Olympic hockey team that won that gold medal way back when if he was trying to make a case of persistency?

Leftists LOVED the VC in the much-revered and loved days of the 60's

I mean he’s not wrong. They will prevail because they’re everywhere, they’re passionate about their cause, and they will never give up.

It's like the Iranians punishing gays by death but yet they claim that no one in Iran is gay

Despite the fact that it was used as a slur, the Viet-Cong represents a better example to prove his point in terms of their determination for their case.

We used to bend but we've learned that our opponents can't be trusted. Remember how that five day waiting period would only be in effect until the technology for instant checks was in place? How about Janet Reno's efforts to include semi-automatic rifles and even shotguns in the assault rifle ban? We've learned that we can't give an inch.

Matthews is right.

NRA members care orders of magnitude more than the gun banners. The gun banners are just tourists on this issue, and the NRA knows this.

It's the same as how abortion on the other end has been.
