re: Nonbelievers seek to take God off currency

typical. the "you're stupid because you believe in God" attitude always shows up eventually. so cliche'

So does that mean this is a cliche calling a cliche a cliche?

I don't think that's what they were laughing at. Your "woe is me" crap is pretty tired though.

"In God we trust" has appeared on most U.S. coins since 1864. Parse that anyway you'd like. "In God we trust" on US money is a 150 year old tradition, not something borne out of anti-communism.

Granted, though I'm not sure how well your argument would resonate with religious southerners if, for the sake of full disclosure, we pointed out that the addition of "In God We Trust" to the coinage during the Civil War was intended to show that god was on the side of the Union, and to garner further blessings in the destruction of the Confederacy

It worked, didn't it.

First example of an LSU guy with God's blessing winning in Atlanta.
It's history.

Then there is a loss of faith, knowledge, respect and wisdom. Just what I see anyways. I know I can't make it without him. I tried and I took the wrong paths

So because I don't believe I have no knowledge, respect, or wisdom? Tell that to Einstein. He didn't believe. Also, just because you are weak and dependent on someone doesn't mean that is the right way.

This same issue went all the way to the Supreme Court in 2011, and the court refused to consider the issue. LINK

Let FFRF bankrupt themselves fighting a long-settled issue. I have no problems with that.

These people are about as useless to society as companies like TMZ. They all need to catch the aids and go away

Yeah, frick people who invest time and money into defending the constitution. We'd be much better off without them!

Whatever happened to, "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you"?

Too inconvenient?

Looks like we should expect the same this time around then.

Yep.

This is a ridicoulus issue to be wasting money on. Other than the number on the corners, who really reads the fine print on the dollar?

Here's a quote from a lawyer for the plaintiffs...

quote:

"nonbelievers are forced to proselytize -- by an Act of Congress -- for a deity they don't believe in whenever they handle money."

But I'm not an atheist.

ETA: And I see you're not much of a Christian.

Guess we'll find out when there are more Muslims running our government instead of Christians.

Can't we just burn the entire city down and kill every living thing in it? I read some book a while back where that was done a few times.
