NJ millionaires-on-welfare sting: 12 additional individuals charged

How does this happen, regardless of the excuse maybe that they don't have enough workers to find all the fraud, this is a numbers game where computers can track all that and spit out those that are outside the norm.

it can be accomplished by a few ways
1. bad oversight, although i think that's unlikely
2. wealth v. income. they may be wealthy with a passive income they don't report correctly. it would be hard, especially if the reported income is dishonest, to regulate this
3. separate tax returns for married couples, so wife files separately with limited/no income and isn't honest on the medicaid application
*ETA: basically they make income, don't report it properly, and list the income to other persons somehow. there are many ways to skin that cat
