PSEG closes remaining coal plants.
quote:

With the planned closure of the two coal plants, New Jersey's energy will now be split almost evenly between nuclear and natural gas, with a small but growing amount of renewable energy, the company said.

The closure would mean that there would only be one coal-fueled plant left in New Jersey: a smaller cogeneration facility in Logan Township, Gloucester County.

Trump has made the libs pro-fracking and pro-nuclear. Unreal. If he gets them to demand voter ID, he is a friecking wizard.

Due to a high supply of natural gas.

Because...

...wait for it...

...wait...

FRACKING!

Note: for those on the left that have a difficulty with basic economics, when the supply of a good outstrips the demand for the same good the price of that good decreases. This is what is happening with natural gas. The price per energy unit for natural has is cheaper than coal thus it is more cost effective to produce electricity via natural gas instead of coal.

This is the economic model that greenies need to follow if they want to win on the alternative energy front.

Just want to note that NJ is getting it's natural gas energy from the shale being produced just west of the state. Fracking technology allows shale to be produced:

Well there's now one coal fired power plant in New Jersey, and that's one too many. The state's air is polluted and smelly already (lots of big chemical manufacturers)

NJ is perfectly welcome to get their energy however they see fit. If NJ wants to limit itself to gas and nuclear, I have no problem with it.

As long as NJ doesn't impose their choices on Texas.

Some of it. Most still comes from the Gulf, but I am trying to find a recent source giving me the breakdown.
