AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- The NFL sharpened its warning to Texas on Friday about a "bathroom bill" targeting transgender people, suggesting for the first time that the football-crazed state could miss out on hosting another Super Bowl if the proposal is enacted.

Following the NFL statement, Patrick's office signaled it was remaining firm and was committed to "making sure that every Texas is welcomed" at sporting events.

until this year, i had not missed one game of Cam Newtons NFL career.....after frazziehead pulled his stunt, and other thugs joined, and NFL started supporting freaks, i gave it up and did watch any more games, including the super bowl....i'm finished with the NFL and NBA

I think the bathroom bills are dumb but this corporate shakedown by the NFL no less is even worse. Talk about not knowing your demographic. How many transgendered people have watched a game outside the lady Gaga halftime show

Didn't watch a game all year and did not watch super bowl. If they continue financing legal suits for such reasons, I am finished with them for good

What an incredibly stupid battle to pick. Who wants politics with their football?

edit: And stupid, unnecessary bathroom politics at that.

Football should be an enjoyable retreat from work or politics. Very foolish move on their part.

What would the NFL do if half of the states that have team passed a bill?

Go ahead and push this, but inserting more petty politics into the brand will turn a lot of people off.
