Yes, the Socalist Republic of Australia! I never said that some non socialist countries also share this sentiment, just that most socialist countries do. Derp!
So if a socialist country and a non socialist country do the same thing why are you attributing it solely to the socialist country? You sound like a man with a bias looking for a narrative

It is very, very, very difficult for an ordinary baw to own a gun of any kind in Australia. You have to go through so much bureaucratic bullshite, paperwork, background checks, etc. that 99% or the population don't find it worth the effort. I had a friend who owned a 400 acre farm in the Shoalhaven region of New South Wales. He was the only person I knew there who owned a rifle, and it was a practically a child's rifle - only held one .22 round at a time bolt action. Farmers had a legit use for a firearm to cull predators on their properties. Other than that, give it up unless you want the cops to come by once a year to inspect your gun safe to make sure everything is properly secured. You might find the occasional bloke who has grandpa's unregistered Enfield from World War II but even they are far and few in between.
Gangs always seem to be well supplied. A lot of blackmarket from Indonesia, southeast Asia, etc.

Some of you guys may be at work right now; or at a store, sitting at home, doing yard work, etc, etc. You have no blemish on your record and keep a gun or multiple guns for hunting, sport, or self defense. Now, all of a sudden, you decide you want to go to the local football game, or Walmart, or mall Friday night and shoot people. What new gun law will stop you? None!! Dems need to stop politicizing the dead. Never let a good crisis go to waste, right?
