He goes on to say:

quote:

Maybe a flag, in and of itself isn't always political. A two-acre flag with a military flyover is saying something very specific, however.

But no problem with every television show, movie, commercial, or discussion around such things (ghostbusters) being political or made to be political

What a joke.

I'm gonna guess this guy wouldn't have a problem with pulling sporting events out of NC due to tranny bathrooms or when the NFL pulled a Super Bowl out of AZ due to not having a state MLK holiday.

But a flyover and a flag? Well, it's just a shame when politics sullies the purity of sport, amirite?

I tend to agree. I never quite understood what the Star Spangled Banner had to do with Saints games when I was a kid.

In the case of the Old War Skule, military participation is tradition and makes sense. Professional sports? Not so much.

I wonder if NBC is gonna start telling Bob Costas to keep his political rants to himself from now on.

I'm kind of the same way. I'm pretty right of center and hardcore Republican, but I've always found the National Anthem before sporting events to be extremely, extremely odd.

I can put myself in the shoes of the OP who thinks it is political even though I don't agree; however, I bet this guy eats up shite that is so transparent and over the top and wouldn't agree that it is political...therefore, he can eat a dick.

Flying the American flag at a sporting event is not being political.

It's being American!

the national anthem by itself isn't odd. without knowing the roots of it, I would imagine it has something to do with world war 2, but post 9/11 shite has gone to another level...it's like a kiss concert

but political? give me a break. all the ways sports is political and this is what he singles out? whoever tweeted that is such a douch nozzle.
