Sorry if already posted

I heard the mom talking about it on the radio this morning. Apparently, the school not only suspended her son but also suggested that he not wear the hat again.

If that would have been my kid, my attorney would be giving the district an earful.

Meanwhile we start homeschooling immediately.

Even when I was in school, they would suspend both fighters, no matter who started it or why. It was bullshite then and now, but could understand their predicament - having the fog of confusion to deal with all the time.

But with video evidence, it should be pretty clear who the guilty person is.

Agree....."zero tolerance" policies are stupid.

On what basis? If there is a no hat policy he is wrong, a non political policy he is wrong, and we do not know if there is something else to the story.

Look I get why people are latching on to some of this, but schools, at least the one I work at, does not go around suspending kids for wearing hats or political items on first time offense. There are specific guidelines.

The guy who said his kid was suspended earlier thread, it was for insubordination, he just tried to prop it up as something else.

Y'all not discussing the important thing here. Surely someone besides me got a look at his mother in the link.

Hat collections have consequences.

I believe it was a poster from Washington or Oregon. His wife had to pick him up from school because it triggered everyone.

There isn't. It was "hat day." Later, they announced on the intercom that they would no longer be having hat day but instead would be having PE teacher day. The mom should threaten to sue for failure to provide a safe environment to get this removed from his record.

I had cousins that went to various schools within the Parkway system.

It's always been run by people with their heads up their collective asses.

What were the grounds for suspending this kid? He didn't break rules yet he is the victim and gets suspended. Was it politically motivated, racial motivated? I think the parents should lawyer up.

It's a no tolerance policy. If your kid is in an a physical altercation, he/she will be suspended regardless of whether it was self-defense or not, and it will go on his/her permanent record.

If this happens to my kid, I'd sue the district for not adequately protecting my child from assault. I'd also sue for them not adequately protecting my child's right to freedom of speech and for not providing a safe learning environment. Lastly, I would defiantly not homeschool my child. My taxes go to the public education system and I will force them educate my child, protect his/her rights, and provide a safe environment because that is what I have paid for.

Yeah, his kid got suspended because he broke the rules and refused to do what the principal told him to do.

Not surprised...I'm sure the school board sees the MAGA hat as an "incitement to violence" and therefore not protected free speech.

Surprised they didn't arrest the kid and send him to Juvenile Hall without a trial.

I didn't even get to the story.

I'm here for her if she needs a shoulder to cry on.
