I also remember The Right being incredulous at the sheer absurdity of such an idea.

you have turned into a bill-maher esque "libertarian". Truly a horrendous sight to see.

Are you married or are you in a close relationship with someone facing deportation?

I member. Liberals have short memory though. I mean they forgot how bad socialism is already and it hasn't even been 30 years since the Cold War ended.

What on earth are you talking about?

I agreed with The Right then that the idea was absurd, and I agree with The Left now that it's still absurd. I guarantee I'm still right of the vast majority of this board

And no, my longtime girlfriend is lily white

ETA: This board is probably 98% conservatives. I'm generally not inclined to pile onto circle jerks, so you mostly see me post when I'm being contrarian. If I lost my mind and started posting on DU, I would probably be banned within 24 hours for being too conservative

I don't remember that.
What were the accusations the left wanted investigated about Bush?

What are the accusations the right wants investigated about Obama?

Anything and everything to with the war in Iraq, culminating in pursuing charges against him as a traitor and war criminal.

Which is just as absurd as the right wanting to do the same with Obama.

Neither side of the isle seems to understand that Presidents cant be tried for executing their office regardless of how shitty their policies may have hurt the US.
They can only be tried for committing crimes.

Just the fact you are willing to gamble money already proves you are not

Thanks for the reply.
Do you think either of those positions has more merit than the other? I ask because one set of actions was legal and supported by both parties, and the other seems to revolve around the possibility of collusion and the misuse of taxpayer funds for strictly political or personal gain.

Seems more apples to oranges imo.

Time has not changed the fact that Bush IS a war criminal.

Invading Iraq without UN approval (The Bushies did seek it) is waging aggressive war - a war crime of the type the UN was primarily designed to eliminate.

And invading Iraq was SO opposite to US interests that it was treason or negligence beyond belief.

While it is true I won't go as far as being an Anarcho-Capitalist but I still wouldn't have gambled.

So I couldn't have lost.

Both are counterproductive witch hunts. See: WhiskeyPapa above me.

I remember the country getting behind a guy that happened to be black. That was dashed because his first term was defined by "He's black". His second term was "If you don't vote or support him you are racist 'cause he's black".
